Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 June 2026
Fly on the Wall ("Fly", "we") is a macOS app that helps you during meetings, interviews,
and presentations. Privacy is the core of the product, so this policy is short and concrete.
What happens on your device
- Audio is transcribed on your Mac using Apple's on-device Speech framework. Audio
is never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- Transcripts are stored only on your Mac, in a folder you control. We never receive
or store your meeting transcripts.
- Search runs on your device. Cross-meeting search builds and stores its index
locally; your meeting history is not uploaded.
What leaves your device
To generate an answer, Fly sends only the text needed for that answer — your question
plus the relevant conversation context (for the live copilot, the running transcript of the
current session; for cross-meeting questions, only the retrieved passages) — to Anthropic's
Claude API.
- Bring-your-own-key mode: requests go directly from your Mac to Anthropic under
Anthropic's terms. We never see them.
- Hosted mode: requests pass through our proxy, which forwards them to Anthropic. We
do not store your prompts, transcripts, or the model's responses — the proxy only
counts tokens for billing and immediately discards the content.
Accounts & what we store
There is no login. A license key (glk_…) identifies your plan. We store:
- a one-way hash of your license key (never the key itself) and your token-usage count;
- your email address, to deliver your key and manage your subscription.
We do not store audio, transcripts, prompts, or model responses on our servers.
Service providers
- Anthropic — runs the Claude model that generates answers.
- Stripe — processes payments (only Stripe holds your name/card details).
- Resend — emails your license key to you.
- Fly.io & Neon — host the proxy and the license database.
- Cloudflare — serves this website.
Your choices
Use bring-your-own-key mode to keep us entirely out of the loop. Delete local transcripts at
any time (they're plain files on your Mac). To delete your account data (email + license),
email us.
Disclosed use: Fly is built for honest, disclosed assistance. Please follow
your employer's or institution's AI policies. The screen-share-invisible overlay is a privacy
feature (like a password manager staying off a shared screen), not a tool to deceive — and it
is best-effort, not guaranteed.
